My Vice

Well there you have it.  I drink way too much of it; or at least I used to.  It’s so bad for me, but I love it.  It was my one splurge in my constant effort to be conscious of what I eat.  But, of course, it too is bad for me.  Although it has a label that consists of mostly 0, studies are showing that diet soda has it’s own adverse effects.  So, although nothing is conclusive, I know the amount of soda I dink is not good for me.  

The other problem that I have is that the soda ends up replacing water in my life.  This is bad news.  Not enough water has the opposite effect on weight loss, so I have to fix this.  

So the newest rule in my life is this:

A gallon of water a day before drinking any soda.

Yes, a gallon is a lot, but this has been the perfect rule so far.  If I aim for a gallon I end of drinking the amount of water I need in a day even if I fall short.  And, I only get on the days that I’ve had enough water so that one soda won’t matter too much.
